In order for your customers to come to your Yottled page from your own domain or a subdomain, you’ll want to setup a redirect. You will need access to your website domain and if you use a service like Cloud Flare, you will need access to that as well.
What is a redirect?
A redirect is when someone goes to somedomain.com and they are “redirected” to another website. In this case, we’ll be setting up a redirection to your Yottled page - or any landing page in Yottled.
-
Login to your domain provider or DNS provider.
-
You’re going to need to access the “redirect” section of your DNS or domain provider. We’ll be adding a 301 redirect
-
Add a redirect rule from the domain or subdomain to the Yottled link as a 301. It should look like this:
-
When configured, users that visit somedomain.com/someurl will be redirected to https://app.yottled.com/myyottledurl/
💡 The Yottled URL will show in the address bar unless you complete step 5
-
You can also enable redirect with masking which will keep your original URL in the address bar. You’ll need to ask your domain and DNS owner for assistance with DNS masking - however it should be an option in your DNS provider.
